On February 19th, 2023, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of Dubai, UAE announced the implementation of the single sign-on feature of UAE PASS, the country’s first national digital identity, on the EmaraTax platform. This feature can now be used by tax system registrants for all procedures and services available through the official FTA website, which marks a significant step in the UAE’s ongoing digital transformation.
The FTA collaborated with other relevant authorities to ensure that the new feature meets the highest standards of security, confidentiality, and accuracy. The goal of this collaboration was to speed up processes, improve the user experience, and meet the customers’ aspirations. Mr. Abdulla Al Bastaki, the Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector at the FTA, encouraged all FTA customers to take advantage of the new feature by activating their UAE PASS accounts and using them to access the FTA’s services quickly and easily from their devices and smartphones, without having to create a new username and password.
According to Al Bastaki, the implementation of the single sign-on feature is part of the continuous effort to develop and upgrade government services using the advanced digital infrastructure of the UAE, which is among the most developed in the region and globally. He also emphasized that this was made possible by the visionary leadership of the UAE, which aims to enhance the efficiency of government systems, improve the quality of life, establish a sustainable environment, and promote happiness and well-being in the community. The agreement also aims to provide added value to users by enabling them to save time, cost, and effort, while also offering faster processing time for services and increased flexibility of data communication.
